Wine Day from Santiago

Hit two or three Casablanca wineries and still make it to the coast for sunset.

Picturesque wine country sitting between the Andes and the Pacific. An easy day trip from Santiago — you can hit two or three wineries and still make it to the coast for sunset.

Route suggestion

Start with Casa del Bosque for the 11am tour and lunch at Tanino. Then head to Kingston Family or Bodegas RE for an afternoon tasting. If you want to linger near the coast, finish at Matetic — it's the closest to the Pacific and has a beautiful restaurant.

What you need to know

Book tastings at least a day ahead, especially on weekends. Most wineries close by 5pm. You'll want a designated driver or hire one — a private driver from Santiago runs about $80-100 for the day and is totally worth it.

Skip if

You don't drink wine. There's not much else to do in the valley. Head to the coast instead.
